Since I began my snowboard journeys, I have had the best moments of my life with my GNU (www.gnu.com)snowboard. GNU started in 1977 and hand built in the United States. Mervin Manufacturing is an American snowboard manufacturer. Mervin is the parent company of Liberace Technologies (aka Lib Tech) Snowboards. Mervin was purchased by Quicksilver in the 90’s. Since the companies teamed up, the tradition of making athletic snow equipment out of plastic, fiberglass, heavy metals and fast growing trees. Magne-Traction technology employs a”serrated” edge consisting of seven bumps on the sidewall. Magne-Traction is 7 bumps on teeth along the length of your side cut and edge each specifically sized and located to improve edge and hold and focus control and power where you need it.
My three seasons I have rode on a GNU B Street 2012 for over 3 years and just had to retire this board after many mountains: Wachusett,Sugarloaf,Wild Cat,Loon,Sunday River, Black Mtn., Crotched Mtn., Jackson Hole, Bretton Woods, Breckenridge, A-Basin, Jay Peak, Waterville Mountain.. This board is a very poppy board, it can handle ice and bad riding conditions with ease, and it can take a beating. I love this board. The artwork is amazing and the colors are bright as my spirit. People always ask questions about the board and I recommend this board to all of the girly girl riders. Here is a video review of this board.
This summer I purchased my new board and after 2 years of researching, I bought the GNU B-Nice BTX Magical Freestyle Board in the Flight pattern. The flight art is by Santtu Mustonen. This board is absolutely beautiful, a soaring colorful bird and on the front flowers all colors of the rainbow and will match every skittle outfit I own. The B-Nice has the classic twin freestyle Banana technology and has a softer flex to make it catch free and loose for beginners or experienced riders. Magne-Traction edges makes tuning easier, edge control effortless. It will keep you out f trouble and looking awesme when the conditions get crazy. Here is a review video of the GNU B-Nice BTX
